On Wednesday 7th July the children found the field covered in bouncy fun! The Friends had held an amazingly successful fundraising event to raise money for ‘something fun’ for the children to experience before the end of term. Their hard work and the generosity of parents meant that they raised just under £2000. In the end, it was decided that we would organise a day of bouncy-castle-madness. We had originally allowed the children’s bubbles to move between bouncy castles, but this wasn’t to be as we have several cases of the Delta Variant of Covid within the school. However, Covid was not going to stop us enjoying ourselves, so each class was allocated its own bouncy castle, slide or obstacle course for use on the day. Needless to say, the children loved it! Each class was also allocated one of the stalls that the Friends would have run at the Summer Fair, and the Friends had even supplied prizes for the children to win! Dolce changed their lunch menu so that the children could enjoy a fish’n’chips lunch, which some of them ate outside, picnic style. The day was even topped off with a visit from an ice-cream van with a free ice-lolly or a ‘99’ cone for the children to choose from. It was a wonderful ‘whole school’ day where the children got to enjoy a real treat. We need to say a huge thank you to the Friends for raising such a wonderful amount of money and to Miss. Dixon, who made all the arrangements for the day itself!
