Today, the children of years 5 and 6 took part in an interactive day of group-based work designed to promote awareness of science and technology in the modern workplace, while at the same time seeking to broaden the horizons and raise the aspirations of the children.
The day was kindly organised and facilitated by an organisation called Form The Future, with the generous help of several volunteers from various local STEM companies.
Form the Future describes the purpose of the day as: "opening doors, showing children the vast range of possibilities open to them and helping to keep their options open for as long as possible."
In the second part of the day, the groups had to present their ideas to the judging panel, who (in a two-stage selection process) had the difficult choice of picking the most convincing solutions put forward by the children. The photographs below are from this part of the process...
