We Are Ridgefield 2018: 6K Investigates Careers in the NHS - Addenbrooke's Visit
The hospital's artefacts curator kindly showed us the excellent on-site museum (which didn't exist last time I was there).
My favourite was the tonsils guillotine (see if you can find it). It has a hole through which you poke the tonsils, before you press the trigger and release the blade which closes with a loud 'snap'. In days gone by, the patient (with head restrained by a special chair) would only have a mild anaesthetic - so that the fast turn-around of young patients could be maintained. Yikes!
