Science Week: Expanding Horizons - Literally!

As any self-respecting year 5 student (or at least one from Mrs Trew's class) will tell you, remote galaxies which are not gravitationally-bound to each other are receding from each other with a speed proportional to the distance between them as new space is created between them. Thus, all such galaxies are becoming farther apart from each other as the universe expands. The main evidence for this is the red-shift of light coming from far-away galaxies.
